Alexian Brothers Tour of Elk Grove Fundraising Ride
|
Ever have the dream of playing on the field with professional baseball, football, basketball or hockey players?
Thirty members of the public will have a unique opportunity to have their dream come true -- at least in the world of professional cycling -- when they can compete with cycling pros participating in the third annual Alexian Brothers Tour of Elk Grove cycling event in Elk Grove Village, Ill. Tour of Elk Grove takes place from Friday, August 1, through Sunday, August 3.
The opportunity for the 30 individuals is on Friday, August 1, at 5:00 p.m., when they can ride and compare themselves against the world's top cyclists on a 4.5 mile time trial course (the actual Tour of Elk Grove time trial is the first stage of a men's professional cycling 3-stage race. The professional time trial is held at 5:30 p.m., immediately following the public fundraising ride.)
All participants competing for the chance to compare and compete against the worlds best are obligated to raise $250 per participant which benefits Elk Grove Village's Soldier Memorial Fund. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis and 100% of the proceeds benefit the Soldier Memorial Fund.

Village of Schaumburg to Host Stage 2 of Road Race!
|
The Village of Schaumburg is excited to team up with Elk Grove Village on
the 150K Road Race which will be added to the Tour of Elk Grove this
year. The Road Race will take place on August 2 and kick off from Alexian
Field in Schaumburg and finish in Elk Grove Village. The Men's Pro Race is
an international race that will draw approximately 150 professional racers
to Schaumburg to participate. Schaumburg has been recognized nationally as
a Bicycle Friendly Community for many years and we look forward to
continuing this tradition of supporting bicycling and bicycling-related
events while we cheer on these racers as they wind their way through our
neighborhoods.
